This One's For You, Ang!

So we have been talking about Christmas and Santa A LOT! Solace and Canaan have heard stories about Jesus and the big guy all month long. I have enjoyed using Santa as a sort of threat for bad behavior- as in "Santa is watching"... anyway today Solly was being rather naughty and I told him that he needed to behave because Santa was watching. My little man stood firmly in the middle of the dining room, looked up at the ceiling and yelled "Santa, quit watching me!!!."

Terrible Two's

So Canaan is a champion tantrum thrower. Being a 2 year old with limited language abilities, we have come to expect his morning outbursts if he doesn't get breakfast fast enough, or it isn't what he wants, or whatever. Usually we remove him from whatever the situation is for him to calm down. Anyway, so I was just cleaning the bathroom while the boys were watching Sesame Street, and Canaan comes in making his "I want something" noise. I ask him to show me and he leads me into the living room saying "Elmo." There was a song about family on the show at the time, and I told him he had to wait because we can't make Elmo come on. Canaan proceeds to have a FIT. And then Elmo's World came on. So much for showing him that throwing tantrums isn't a way to get what you want. Thanks, Elmo.

When I Grow Up...

Judging by these pictures, Canaan will grow up to be a mall walker. And Solace will be a street walker.

For some reason on the day of his baptism he decided to respond to "Cheese!"... although I think he thought I was saying "Cheek!" because he kept touching his cheek. No matter, I'll take what I can get.

Just wanted to let you all know that we did NOT drop off the face of the earth... we are just trying to get settled in our new home. We will post some new pics when we come across the cord that we need :) Can't believe Irie is 2 months already!

3 Going on 30...

Ok so I realize I have been the world's worst blogger lately... but I have a good excuse. Actually, I have 2 good excuses. 1- We are in the middle of packing to get ready for a move this weekend, and 2- I am trying to figure out how and when my 3 year old toddler turned into a grown man. All of the sudden he no longer wants me to go with him when he has to go to the bathroom at home- he just wants to call me when he is done :) And he just went upstairs to "get down to business" when he yelled for me to bring him a book. Nice.

This whole having kids thing is finally starting to pay off! (and YES, I know it's nasty that he put it all over his face... what can I say- I have NO control! :)

So I enjoy reading some of the blogs from the DM Register's Juice site. One of them just so happens to be the blog of a woman about my age who has 2 kids and works full time... anyway she had a baby a few months before I had Irie, and right now she is in CA doing the Napa Valley thing and her kids are with their G-parents back in IA. Now here's my thing- I have a hard time being away from the boys at bedtime- let alone for an entire week! And away + alcohol = guilt. Anybody else feel this way? Or am I just crazy?!?

Peanut Butter Jelly Time!!!

This morning Canaan had peanut butter and jelly on his toast. As you can see, apparently he prefers to wear it!

Time Flies.....

Irie is ONE MONTH OLD already!! Time is going by so fast that we will be cashing in his college savings so he can backpack through Europe before we know it!!

We can't believe Irie is 2 weeks old already... before we know it we will be posting pics of his 2nd birthday!!
